Saturday AM: Shrinkage is a Good Thing with Stephanie Flynn Sokolov

Instructor: Stephanie Flynn Sokolov

Explore how a yarn’s property of shrinkage can be used as the main design effect in your weaving. In this Round Robin style class you will bring a loom warped with a simple, but unique warp and weave a small sample. Then get up and move to the seat on your right and weave a sample on your neighbors loom.  This allows you to warp once and take home a plethora of samples.  This weaving adventure will educate you on how to best use a yarn’s shrinkage as your greatest asset.

There are about 6 different warps that will be assigned 2 weeks before class.   They are all plain weave threading so you can use a rigid heddle table loom or any other shaft loom.
